School trips will include a snack, lunch and educational materials for each student.
Young children living on farms can quickly pick up bad habits and practices when doing chores or other farm-related activities. Similarly, children not living on farms but visiting those owned by family and friends, may not be aware of the dangers lurking in or around tractors or grain bins.
Any school in Northwest Missouri or Northeast Kansas can register their 3rd, 4th or 5th grade classes to attend Safety Acres as a spring field trip.
Safety Acres is a nationally recognized farm safety education program designed for young children. Participants will learn farm safety and awareness on topics including:
Grain Bin
ATV Safety
Power Take Off Safety (PTO)
Electrical Safety
Weather Safety
Water Safety
Fire Safety
Seatbelt Safety
Once registered, teachers will be provided further information on the program, parental consent forms for each student attending and how to request reimbursement for busing costs.
Missouri schools may submit a request to reimburse a portion of busing costs to the event.
Registration is on a first come, first serve basis and may close early if program capacity is reached before the deadline.
